How to Make Garlic Paste

  • Gather Ingredients: You’ll need peeled garlic cloves and a neutral oil, such as olive or avocado oil.
  • Combine in a Processor: Place the garlic cloves in a food processor or blender. 
  • Add Oil: Pour in just enough neutral oil to cover about half the garlic.
  • Blend: Process the mixture until it forms a smooth, consistent paste. If the paste is too thick, add a small amount of additional oil.
  • Scrape and Repeat: You may need to scrape down the sides of the processor a few times and continue processing until a very smooth paste is achieved. 

Storage & Use

  • Refrigerator:Store the paste in an airtight glass jar and use it for up to a month.
  • Freezer:For longer storage, transfer the paste into an ice cube tray and freeze. Once frozen, transfer the cubes to a freezer-safe bag or container to last for several months.
  • Versatility:Garlic paste can be used to quickly add garlic flavor to recipes, making it a convenient alternative to mincing fresh garlic.
